A few items of potential interest. First, I was the guest on the Financial Sense Newshour last week; the mp3 is available for download. Second, I did an interview the other day with Daily News and Analysis, which is published out of six cities in India and has a readership of 1.5 million. It isn’t anything some readers haven’t heard me say before, but it’s a brand new audience. (Note: the paragraph that begins “The US government right now…” is actually one of the interviewer’s questions and they forgot to bold it; that’s being fixed.)
On Sunday at 3:30pm, C-SPAN2 will carry a speech of mine in which I discuss Meltdown, my Austrian book on the financial crisis. It’ll be repeated Monday morning at 2:00am and 6:00am (all times Eastern).
Finally, I’ll be speaking at the University of Mississippi on Thursday, April 23, at 7:30pm in Bishop Hall. If you know anyone who lives in the area, please spread the word.
Next week I won’t want to distract from the premiere of Bob Murphy’s excellent new book on the Great Depression and the New Deal (the full-blown Austrian perspective that builds on Rothbard’s book, which ends with Hoover), so I thought I’d post all this now.

Meltdown, which I have just finished, should be a mandatory read for all Americans, whether in print or in an audio version. The problems that plague our economy and their solutions are so plainly and succintly stated that a knowledge of economics and the economic history of this country, though obviously desirable, is not mandatory. It is my hope that Americans will decide to take wealth production out of the hands of government before the current administration sells this country out to the central bankers and Wall Street and before we become the serfs to which F. A. Hayek alluded!
Its a nice interview Thomas. And, thanks for entertaining newspapers from India. I am one of your regular readers from India. Thanks again.
Thomas,
I enjoyed your lecture to the packed house at Loyola in Baltimore this past Wednesday. Keep up the good work!
I’m jealous of the University of Mississippi. You should consider Samford University…
It will be a miracle if our Nation will make it, and many of us are clueless as to what other bag of tricks will be pulled to keep the American people in limbo. We have wedge issues, spinning, pretense of right vs left, covert change agents, deceptive media reporting etc. It saddens me for we are truly a great people and have been a very unique Nation but I see it all leading towards an Argentine demise.
When are you coming to the San Francisco, CA area?
