I just found out that on Sunday the 19th Meltdown, my Austrian look at the financial crisis, will enter its eighth week on the New York Times bestseller list, where it will be #21. (It peaked at #11 so far.) It’s #7 on the business bestseller list.
I’ll be speaking on the subject of the book at Loyola College in Baltimore on Wednesday, April 15 (Knott Hall B01, 7:00pm), and at the University of Mississippi on April 23 (Bishop Hall, 7:30pm). Thanks to everyone who came out to UC Boulder last week.
Finally, I’ve been doing a lot of radio in support of the book, including this appearance on a leftish radio program in central Florida; my segment starts around 20:00. I’ll post a link to my interview on the Financial Sense Newshour when it’s posted this weekend.

Great performance on the Central Florida radio show. For progressives, those hosts were very muted in their critiques of capitalism and their opposition to some of the things you said. I hope that means they’ve been sold on the libertarian view of this — but, more likely the case, they’ll just go right back to being ‘progressives’ with you off the line.
Excellent job at any rate.
Good Job,
It’s as if you had to walk from point A to point B through a mine field.
Has your publisher tried to get you on my show?
Matt_R.L ,
Do you have a link to the program ?
S Andrews,
It’s in the blog post — the words ‘this appearance’ in the final paragraph are hyperlinked. Once at that link, scroll through about 40% of the way and you’ll hear Tom be introduced.
Enjoy.
I live in Columbia, MD, Tom, so I’m going to plan to attend the talk at Loyola on the 15th. I look forward to meeting you!
My publicist sends out press releases and then we see who bites, so specific appeals are not made to particular programs. I’m happy to appear on whatever program would like to feature me.
Finished reading my copy. I’d still like to see a refinement of the arguments into a guide of some kind. For instance there are issues to avoid because they just take a debate into the weeds. Then there are arguments that really focus on the point. I’m willing to take the time to learn it well but most people aren’t. I think that a 1,2, 3 guide would really help; not a condensing of the arguments but a starting place for people to learn and a focus for a worthy debate.
Thanks for taking the subject to the next level.
Please try to get on the Colbert Report or the Daily Show. It’ll help reach a target audience that needs to hear what you’ve got to say the most – our youth.
Speaking of making up stories, regarding a comment on the radio program in Florida, here‘s a story of mine on Bernanke.
Dr. Woods,
I’ll be at the Baltimore event. Tell me, will you be selling copies of your book on location?
Sincerely,
Alex Peak
P.S. There’s a thread on the Daily Show message board here suggesting having Dr. Woods on as a guest.
Alex, I’ll have a small number of copies (around 20 or so) for sale at the event.
Dr. Woods,
How much will you charge, and can I reserve my copy now?
I only ask because I recall that when Dr. Block spoke at the same college you’ll be speaking at, the room was absolutely packed. There were over a hundred people in attendence, crammed into a room “with seating for about 70.”
Sincerely,
Alex Peak

Great job Mr. Woods. Keep up the good work!
some how missed the link. Thanks Matt_R.L
Alex, I’m selling them for $20. If that’s ok with you, I’ll set one aside. Please introduce yourself by name so I’ll know to release it!
$20 is perfect. Thanks!
Alex
