From the story:
“Think of the uses of $300 billion, the annual gap between what taxpayers owe and what they pay.”
Does no one realize that people use their own money how they wish at CNN? The question should be, “Imagine if the untold trillions taxed and inflated away by the government were in the hands of their rightful owners.”
This is like an Onion story if they complained of the mafia’s lack of collection.
It never ceases to amaze me how some people consider tax money to be “free”. They think if a tax law has been passed, somehow magically all that money appears from nowhere to be (mis-)spent by government.
Any additional tax enforcement is effectively a tax increase. It all comes from somewhere.
The only way to reduce the burden of government is to reduce government spending, preferably to as close to zero as possible.
Drrr… the prediction is true enough, but the explanation is too totally stupid that I believe the guy actually believes it!
