Federal pandemic plan: wear masks, stay home, keep your distance

May 2, 2006 by

Fox News is reporting on the White House’s plan to keep us save from a flu or other pandemic:

Employers should have plans to keep workers at least three feet apart, colleges should consider which dormitories could be used to quarantine the sick, and flight crews should have surgical masks to put on coughing travelers under a draft of the government’s pandemic flu plan…

The report says that “institutions in danger of becoming overwhelmed will rely on the voluntarism and sense of civic and humanitarian duty of ordinary Americans.” If that is true, then why do we even need a 228-page report?

The article also points out that there could be “restrictions on movement” and that the National Guard might also get in on the action in case there are “breakdowns in public order” (reminds me of New Orleans…). I feel safer already.

We’ll teach those diseases not to mess with the power of the U.S. Government.

If at first you don’t succeed then use force.
If force doesn’t succeed then use violence.
If violence fails then more violence.

But the terrorists will use the masks!

We need some expensive verification process.

“Employers should have plans to keep workers at least three feet apart…”

LOL! What great ironic humour. Here’s a question: who are the more foolish: our child-like moronic fools for leaders, or the fools who place their faith in their guidance?

I don’t know about other employees, but when the time comes to keep apart from others for some deadly disease, i’ll be giving them more than the three feet margin prescribed by an official government document (as in staying home) and/or i’ll likely become known as darth.
