Will Smith vs. Fiat Money

Will Smith vs. Fiat Money

According to this UPI article, Will Smith is gearing up to make Greenbacks, a movie about "a plot to destabilize the world economy though a sophisticated money counterfeiting plot." Should be amusing to see the movie's treatment of the economics involved, whether it gets them right or wrong. Given that it's from the people who brought us Double Jeopardy, I'm not expecting much sophistication. But given that these people also brought us The Rock, I am expecting our hero to be seen running away from many huge explosions.

Incidentally, I offer my congratulations to UPI's proofreaders on the word "ex-patriot."

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
