Introducing Mises Web Services

August 31, 2005 by

In addition to the usual syndication options, interactive Mises quote and daily article web services are now available.

I will be adding web-services for many other Mises features as well, so let me know if you would like web service functionality for other parts of the site.

Thank you for linking to the encyclopedia article; I wasn’t sure what “web services,” used in this context, actually meant.

Well, I’m still not sure (I’m a little behind on these types of things), but that will be something that will have to be taken up in the future… as it is already [yikes!] 6:39 AM.

(Good night/morning!!)

Yes, same here. I can usually keep up, more or less, with the development rationale on the site, but this one really threw me for a loop. I gather it is a developers only service that allows sites and servers to have full access to Mises Institute databases, so that the full run of publications, daily articles, study guides, Mises quotes, and more to appear and be managed remotely. It is a mega-RSS feed that goes beyond just displaying recent material and permits all material ever published to be so display. Of course this opens up another world of possiblities. Whether and how this impacts end-users is still unclear to me but I’m sure we’ll know soon enough. All Hail DV!
