The federal Environment Ministry set up a program to help ranchers lease land to hunting outfitters and issue hunting permits, and it assigned enforcement officers to regulate the hunters.
The federal government also created new firearms permits that made it relatively easy for foreign hunters to bring in their own high-powered hunting rifles.”
In this case at least, this is an effort to free up regulations on private land, and to make it easier to bring in guns. A pretty good idea. Of course, it’s not the government that’s bringing new money to the region as the article implies. As usual, it’s the market that deserves the credit.
