So long as they get away with it and believe they can evade the macro-consequences, their “concern” can only be affected and their will to stop it trumped by other more immediate concerns. A sign of the problem: “The new prediction is also greater than the $331 billion the administration anticipated…”

It is the working plan of the people who own both the Republicans and the Democrats. The Dems make outrageous proposals but act conservatively. The GOP talks conservative but passes bills that are more left wing than the Dems would even dare to propose. This keeps the stupid voters “whipsawed” and nothing changes no matter who wins the election.
