NY Gubernatorial Candidate Strikes Again

January 14, 2005 by

New York state attorney general and gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer reached a $600K settlement with Macy’s department stores in his race profiling investigation of the company. The store must also train its security guards to avoid racial profiling. According to the New York Times:

“Mr. Spitzer’s investigation found that most of people detained at a sampling of Macy’s stores around the state were black and Latino, a disproportionately high number when compared with the percentage of blacks and Latinos who shopped at those stores, according to the complaint.”

Evidently you are not guilty of stealing if you rob a store and few people of your racial group even shop at that store.

Just imagine if Power-monger Spitzer led the life of a productive private citizen, I think he could have been an incredible entrepreneur, adding much value to society.
