Ever since our blog software upgrade, we’ve experienced slowdowns during rebuilds from comments and new posts. It has not been debilitating but merely annoying. It seemed to relate to the massive increase in comment spam that has nearly destroyed many other blogs out there. Many sites have shut down public comments altogether. Mises.org has remained safe, but not without a relentless fight.
Fortunately, Movable Type has released a new version that fixes several issues that were heavily impacted by increased comment spam. This new version was installed on this blog at 5am. You will notice the difference right now when you comment or read. Our initial impression is that the blog works far more efficiently. Thank goodness we didn’t have to wait for the Federal Department of Blogs for the upgrade.
