Why, he’s even worse than the author describes.

“My responsibility…has been to play the game of basketball and relieve some of the pressure of everyday life for people who work nine to five.”

People who work? What about the people who don’t work? How insensitive!

You’re right, but I was trying to be a little humerous and hyperbolize it a little bit. Personally, I do think the complaint laughable (if I were black and balding, I’d shave my head too).

The nerve! To maintain his appearance in the way he sees fit. There should be a new law that balding people cannot shave their heads, because vanity must be criminalized.

One must distinguish between cultural and political critiques. You may think the complaint about Jordan caring about his personal appearance is laughable; I do too. But the author didn’t say anything about involving the law or the state. You’re writing to answer a cultural criticism – don’t confuse a personal judgment with an argument that “there should be a law…”
