Only government could come up with something like this:
The Obama administration plans to bolster the American military presence in the Persian Gulf after it withdraws the remaining troops from Iraq this year, according to officials and diplomats. That repositioning could include new combat forces in Kuwait able to respond to a collapse of security in Iraq or a military confrontation with Iran.

I’ve always maintained that there are only two reasons for Obama to agree to pull us out of Iraq: 1) The Iraqi govt told us to get out by the end of the year, and 2) it provides the US govt with a new supply of troops for other military forays without significantly increasing the military budget.
According to the Daily Show, the pullout was part of a benchmark process negotiated between the Iraqi’s and the Bush administration. I haven’t taken the time to verify this info. If it is true, then the Obama Admn. is just upholding a previous agreement.
However, the press makes it look like Obama is doing us all a favor.
Indeed. Panetta was pushing hard for the Iraqis to “request” an extension of troop presence.

Moqtada el-Sadr and sundry militia would be raising hell anyway if the US invasion forces were hanging around after SOFA expiration. Not that Maliki wants them either, he will rather do the “Shia strongman” stuff, if need be with some help from Iran.
Gotta say that the absolutly disgusting Nazi behaviour of certain retards of the US-american political landscape of having the Iraqis pay for a 10-y blockade and subsequent invasion and total destruction of their country really raises my ire to unprecedented levels. That alone proves the total moral decay of the US political arena.
This is obviously better than being in a country full of ingrates that has yet to thank us or repay us for the loss and sacrafice 8 years of fighting has had on our republic. I’d rather have our men safely in Kuwait than in Iraq, wouldn’t you?
We should have been there in the first place?
Excellent troll is excellent.
Our men? Since when did I get ownership of other men?
Not even the country for which all the eight years of blood and money was sacrificed in Iraq has thanked us or repaid us!
Would you thank a foreign superpower for bombing and occupying your land for any amount of time? How can you blame Iraqis for not caring about our troop losses and “sacrifice” when their civilian casualties and the destruction brought on their towns and cities has been so massive. The average American has no knowledge of these civilian casualty figures, and I think that even if they did it would be shrugged off as collateral damage. “Had to be done,” I hear in arguments. Sickening lack of respect for human life!

I didn’t remember the people inviting us in. After purposefully destroying the infrastructure of this country in the first war, we impose sanctions on the country starving over a half million men women and children. Then by unconstitutional, undeclared, aggressive warfare, the Military Industrial Complex converts the country to a client state, allows Sharia Law to be implemented, allows over 100,000 “contractors” in to continue to steal their resources. And you call the Iraqi’s Ingrates? Typical American. arrogant, ignorant, and hypocritical.
“Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that came and talked about such a thing.” Dwight D. Eisenhower
“Typical American. arrogant, ignorant, and hypocritical.”
Whoa dude, you’re on a site where many Americans and other nationalities are speaking out against this so lay off the stereotypes.
Ha, Obama and his minions will doubtless try to claim budget “savings” on the “withdrawal”. The neocons will probably go along with that if they think it can prevent real cuts to the “defense” budget.
