NPR solicited a 500-word column from me on the new document from the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. Hard to say much in 500 words, but I did my best.

Tom, I really appreciate your point about how an “idolatry of the market” would have *resolved* the problem of overextended credit. An idea worth repeating.

Great job with 500 words (almost. It was 581 by who’s counting:-).

The church often forgets its own doctrine of original sin and constantly searches for the perfect man to solve all of our problems.
