Another great solution is called Simple Care (simplecare.com). Met Dr. Cherewatenko a few years ago, and hoping he helps spread this idea.
Marvelous little lecture! This would be a great link for anyone discussing public healthcare.
A sound concept.
I’m a canadian and I try to explain why we don’t need social medicine, and that the free market is better. The response is alway a sarcastic “Oh you mean like the US? That’ll be just dandy!” I’m glad to have resources like this to point out US healthcare isn’t flawed because of problems with capitalism.
I should mention my primary physician is cash-only. He is very much off the beaten path, both in location and methodologies, but I like and respect him a lot. He does basic conventional medicine (he even gave me antibiotics once over my objection and insisted I take them!), accupuncture (cured my stomach acid problem) and homeopathy (zapped my insomnia). I never wait more than a few minutes in his waiting room.
I can’t stomach visiting anyone mainstream anymore. I am not a billing reimbursement unit. I am a human being. (That said, my marriage counselor recently started taking insurance and I have to admit loving the $20 co-pay instead of $140 cash pay….ach, corrupted am I….)
This is beautiful
hi.. this is useful to all health care people. your concept is well. so all lecturing people’s are take this topic and explain our students. its my request. health care people are really like this lecturing.
Does anyone know the name of this doctor?
Juliette Madrigal Dersch, MD
She practices in a small town outside of Austin, TX, USA
My physician is also an opt-out provider and an integrative medicine practitioner.
There is a group in St. Louis, MO called the Saint Louis Institute of Integrative Medicine that shares the alternative care message with doctors and patients. See http://www.sliim.org
An annual symposium is to be held on November 5, 2011.
The SLIIM website provides information about goals, symposium topics, and also a list of participating physicians in the St. Louis area.
As a patient, I look forward to this educational event in the same way I look forward to the daily informational opportunities here at LVMI.
I also look forward to sharing a lot about LVMI with SLIIM members and attendees.
