I've been involved with SOLE for a year in California and it really has inspired me to put more effort towards entrepreneurialism and self-improvement versus being involved in politics which seemed like a dead end approach to achieving liberty and fighting the state.

On top of that, I have literally dozens of new libertarian friend now!

Eric (and others of similar sentiment),

You may in fact be the only one at first and maybe for awhile. But my experience has been similar to other leaders of SOLE in that people trickle in, then join in waves, then trickle, and over time you will accumulate a number of "hardcore", frequent, reliable attendees and you will get a lot of value out of getting to know one another, sharing ideas and projects, etc., while various others flit in and out of the group over time. Finding guest speakers to network with also helps to draw a crowd over time-- when you lock down an interesting, successful person to come share with the group, it gives legitimacy to what you're doing while simultaneously attracting the right kind of people who want to participate and learn more.

It's all good. If you even have remote interest I encourage you to visit the site and get in touch with us. Maybe you can't or aren't ready to start something now but if we at least know about you we can help put you in touch with others in the future.

Good luck!

I started SoLE 13 months ago because I had just finished human action and realized I had no one in my city to discuss it with. With out much hope, I made a meetup group for libertarian entrepreneurs and to my surprise I found a bunch of awesome guys that are now close friends.

Hi Fritz,

I started the first sole chapter in LA. Thanks for posting, that is quite disturbing. The site is working for everyone else, I assume you have a work related fire wall? Anything you can tell me would be interesting, would love to get off of a "hate speech" category considering all we talk about is non-aggression.

Eric: I know that there was a HUGE, enthusiastic contingent of Ron Paul supporters from the Spokane area at the 2008 GOP convention, held in Spokane, WA. Perhaps there would be some in that group who might be interested.

Participating in and helping to build SoLE Los Angeles has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I highly recommend starting one.

Not only will you kickstart your business ideas and up your business acumen, but you will attract like minds to yourself- and in this anti-laissez-faire world, it's always nice to have Rothbardian friends!
