Why not just add phosphates? It’s simplier than heating vinegar.

To commercially manufacture detergents. TSP is still legal to use in home cleaning if you buy a box of it.

@J.Murray. Once again available on store shelves in some areas of the country, or through Amazon to avoid your local laws. Thirty years ago you could not buy a box of TSP in Chicago or any part of Cook County. I used to travel to DuPage county to buy it. I do not know if it is now avaliable in Cook County.
