Etats-Unis. La révolution à la mode libertarienne

April 23, 2011 by

Dans le New Hampshire, profitant de la vague de mécontentement contre Washington, un millier d’Américains veulent instaurer un «Etat libre» doté d’un gouvernement minimal et fondé sur la liberté individuelle.

For those who don’t read French (and assuming my translation is correct):

The Free State movement is being reported in a French newspaper.

Yes, that’s “Libération”, which is definitely on the socialist-left side of the political spectrum.

Not to be confused with “l’Humanité”, which is on the communist far-out side.

That was possibly the most stimulating text I’ve read in a while. Not because of what was said, but because it was in French. And if I’m understanding this correctly, I think they mistakenly wrote that Ron Paul is in the Libertarian Party. Or at least they do not specify that he is currently an official Republican.

‘Libération’ is indeed a very leftist journal and it is surprising that there is no explicit criticism of the libertarian movement in this article.
