My newest Forbes article shortens one of the rallying cries of the American Revolution from the clever “No Taxation Without Representation” to the simpler “No Taxation.” It has gotten a bit of attention. Gary Chartier offers extended comments in this post titled “Poverty and the State,” but that’s not all: I’ll be making an appearance on Freedom Watch with Judge Andrew Napolitano tomorrow at 3:30 CT, 4:30 ET on Fox Business. I’m pretty excited about it; I was supposed to be on a Fox Business program in late 2008 but the logistics were always messed up (long story).
The article I’ll be discussing was first drafted a year ago but wasn’t published until now. They had asked me to write something about taxes; I decided to ask whether the programs we’re buying with our taxes are even doing what their proponents want them to do. The conclusion I reach is that most of what we’re paying for is superfluous at best and destructive at worst.
I’m sure it will be online soon, but it will be live at 3:30 CT, 4:30 ET.
