Having grown up under a Hard-shell Baptist Grandmother and a Grandfather descended from one of the first 10 white settlers in south Miss., for whom rugged individualism was the only acceptable lifestyle, the lesson for me early on was it’s all a balancing act. Duty, respect for convention, ect. must get their share for society to function. What I suppose it all boils down to is just what I hope most of us here can agree with: live as you will but don’t hurt other people in the process.
