While Counterpunch.com is capable of publishing the crudest Communist propaganda, it did feature an interesting article by Kirkpatrick Sale that argued that our constitutional order has evolved in precisely the direction the Anti-Federalists predicted.

The problem in America today is that most Americans don’t want liberty but instead, over the last 80 years or so,have voted for security.Things like: self reliance, independence, discipline, entrepreneurship, thinking for one self all the attributes that make free men shun government answers to social-economic problems have been drummed out of the average Americans lives. This process has taken place through the process of Cultural Marxism spearheaded by public education, academia and the main stream media. As long as a majority of Americans are happy being well fed serfs, then most of it’s citizens will throw away any claim to a Bill of Rights and remain a nation of sheep.
