The Security Racket

It’s great to see the truth about “homeland security” getting out, especially in light of TSA’s outrages. But what is the alternative to the scam? Hoppe’s collection explains it.

Looks like a great book!

The article mentions using scanners to foil terrorism. I would say the scanners, their operators, and the way they are implemented is the terrorism at play here.

The linked article mentions using the scanners to foil terrorism. I would say that the scanners and operators are the terrorists who need to be foiled.

Stuff like optoutday.com and wewontfly.com is good. However, in my opinion it should go farther this holiday season than just opting-out or not flying (but driving or taking the train instead).

People should cancel their travel plans entirely because that will at least get their family and close friends thinking more about it and feeling some of the social costs of this new low in the quest to keep “people safe” and how it is negatively impacting culture and their lifestyle, and will continue to do so if not stopped. But if people cancel their flight, but take the train instead, there really is no sense of loss among their family and friends and their anti-TSA protest risks looking trivial.

Reading Hoppe’s M.O.N.D. right now. Great Stuff. Amazing historical/philosophical insight, and basically knocks every objection down that the Statists give for National Defense, even the “Barbary Pirates Card”!
