What thrills me most about Vijay’s generous fund-raising campaign is the listing of many smaller donations of $10 and $15. They are helping to inspire him on his first-ever marathon, and doing it through digital means and the micro-patronage that it makes available. They are able to combine their efforts with those of larger donors, towards a common goal of funding the scholarship of liberty.
Vijay’s campaign here came as a complete surprise to us. We didn’t put him up to it, and we didn’t discuss it with him before he took it live. He had been reflecting on some way to make his run have a larger meaning beyond the run itself. It came to him to challenge himself to give a donation to the work of the Mises Institute, and only then did he decide that it makes sense to invite others to join him in this effort. It has been thrilling to see the campaign go from $0 to $5,700 in only a matter of days.
The goal is $13,000, an amount that Vijay himself will matching to make each mile worth $1000. We only have until Saturday to make this work because the run is on Sunday.
Will you join us in supporting him and the work of freedom?

I would, but The Point does not take Bahamian credit cards.
