The results are in

Democracy as a choice? Not when the choice is between candidates from the legions of those who support planning, debt, militarism and imperialism (the righteous campaign for democracy abroad).

“Of course the element of fascism that makes it odious to the more sober observers in this country is its hatred of democracy. But there are whole legions of writers and pundits in America ceaselessly vocal in their devotion to democracy who nevertheless are committed to the theory of the autarchial planned state and the principle of the consumptive economy effected by national debt, who like at least a little militarism and do not run away from a little righteous imperialism, but who balk at the war on democracy which the fascists, with more consistency than themselves, carry on.” As We Go Marching, John T. Flynn

Regardless of the outcome tomorrow, the results will be the same:

  • The economy will be planned
  • The debt will increase
  • The saber will rattle
  • The empire will expand

This is the first election since I was eligible to vote that I will abstain. Every day reading from LewRockwell.Com and mises.org further sustains my decision. I’ve written why here.

Thanks for the encouraging link. The primary issue in my view is exercising authority over others, something explicitly forbidden by Jesus. Luke 22:25-26. Votes are, one way or another an attempt to run someone else’s life.

Hey Doug S., from one to another. I liked your piece and others on your site. I posted a link on my FB page for the rest of my clan to peruse. Keep writing, you’re making a difference.

Hey, thanks! I knew another by your name (and spelling) in college. He was tall, I’m short, and so thus we were named! Anyway, thanks for the encouragement… I appreciate it more than you can know!

Will tradition prevent the establishment of a constitutional monarchy for the United States when the collapse of the dollar dissolves the structure of democracy – the god that failed?

Will tradition prevent the establishment of a big nasty dragon to murder the townsfolk after Cthulhu is slain?
