In spite of the pundits’ cry of political turmoil and changing political winds, less than 10% of the House and Senate seats will likely switch parties due to the upcoming election. Turmoil? Changing winds? Hardly.
The churn is exposing the immense amount of political rent to be had by those who hold power, no matter how tenuous the hold.

Real change would be people publicly refusing to pay there taxes, policemen refusing to enforce the “law” and administrators of the DEA admiting that the drug war is futile and refusing to police it any more…. Real change is when people simply refuse to go along. We are a long way off from this. I look for the signs and pray for an end. I ask people how far they will let the state go before saying “NO FURTHER!!!”, and the results are not good….. People are prepared to let the state control every aspect of there lives, as long as it is for the general good….. Financially speaking, I believe we are at the near limit of state power, so I think people will be diciplined for there sins, but the lesson learned will be the wrong one.
Real change is when people stop confusing there and their.
I appreciate the comments on Mises posts, but I wish people would be more careful with spelling and grammar. Using ‘there’ when one means ‘their’ plays right into the hands of those who maintain the vision of the anointed.
