Prof. DiLorenzo (or any other person with knowledge of the subject),

Is it possible to get your response to this article: http://deathofsoutherngod.blogspot.com/2010/09/what-most-people-dont-realize-civil-war.html

I read your book, The Real Lincoln, and took many of its points. However, I have trouble reconciling this article with your book. A society which used God to defend slavery seems like a society which could not have been reasoned with. Was Lincoln actually justified in saying enough is enough and using his power (legally or illegally) as a catalyst for change?

Thanks.

Professor:-

I recently read The Real Lincoln - excellent and thought provoking to say the least. My daughter Suzanne is a Loyola sophomore - accounting major - she is on the look out for opportunities to sit in on your courses. Free market girl, I am delighted to say. For her Sellinger Scholars application she chose Chris Christie as an example of leadership in the last five years.

You were wise to stick with scholarship over golf - as Wodehouse used to say, golf isn't a game, it's an ordeal. It will ruin your life. Consider yourself well out of it.

Keep up the great work!

Best-
