I subscribe to Gary North’s “Tip of the Week” emails. This morning, he suggested watching the lectures from Mises University on the Mises Institute’s UStream channel. If you can make the time to watch, this is a very good investment. Even if you can’t watch live, audio of the lectures (and video of at least some of the lectures) will be uploaded as the seminar progresses. Audio and video from previous Mises Universities are on the Institute’s Media page, and the introductory lectures from Mises U 2009 are on the Institute’s YouTube channel.

The flow of knowledge is the chief characteristic of a free market economy. It is the nature and role of knowledge to bring about the justice and unity that is created in an unhampered economy. It is the flow of knowledge that enables entrepreneurs to morph from latent to active as part of the transformation that takes place as a result of a market founded upon well defined and continually refined property rights.
The Mises Institute is at the forefront in giving people access to the flow of knowledge!
Jeez, Bruce. Aren’t you kind of stalking this site or something? Do you get paid to worship every word posted on here?
Just saying..and Gary North? Doesn’t he want a Christian theocracy? Not very libertarian. Hey Gary, I love how you advocate people skipping college and taking tests and crap. Is that what you did? Wait..nope.
How are those Economics of the Bible selling? Like hotcakes you say? Psh
The clown is unhappy!!!
I have been downloading and systematically listening to as much of the audio files as I can for nearly a year now. I have listened to most of the previous two Mises U’s as well as the last three or so Austrian Scholars Conferences. I have listened to “Failure of the New Economics,” “Theory and History,” and am about a third of the way through Human Action. I am slowly collecting Austrian books, including so far: What has Gov’t Done to Our Money, Making Economic Sense, History of Money and Banking, Panic of 1819, Man Economy and State w Power and Market, Socialism, Bureaucracy, Anti-Capitalistic Mentality, Liberalism, Economics in One Lesson, Road to Serfdom, and maybe a couple others.
I also really enjoyed Bourbon for Breakfast, so Kudos to JT.
I was unfortunately unable to make it to Mises U this year, but I plan on watching at least a few of the lectures on Ustream and downloading all the audio. I am already planning to attend next year.
Keep up the good work LvMI, and tell the clown to actually read some of Gary North’s works before spouting off at the mouth.
Dear Jeff,
I like your website.
With warm regards,
Bruce
I am new to Mises U but am looking forward to checking out the audio and video. I have to agree with Bruce in the first comment that it is the flow of knowledge that is the real strength of a free market economy. The flow and movement of knowledge from one person to another is what expands the overall consciousness of society.
And fwiw, here’s an article based on my notes from Prof. Hulsmann’s lecture “The Life and Work of Ludwig von Mises” last year.
The UStream link should actually point to here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mises-university-2010
