The best way to sell these books to australians is to point out how these events lead to Britain colonizing Australia! Otherwise it won’t much interest us. And here’s an interesting alternative scenario- what would have happened if King George III had been mellower, less prone to pig-headedness? I don’t think there would have been a war, or any crisis, but Australia might have been settled by the Germans. (The French were never great colonisers.)
