The Perfect Father’s Day Gift – “A Song”
Forget neckties with strange sayings, power tools that could injure a clumsy dad, and dust collecting trinkets.
One of the trendiest Father’s Day gifts this year is MUSIC, and
one of the most popular songs is called “Little Girl.”
It’s a song written by E. Walter Smith to be used for the father-daughter dance at weddings. However, lots of daughters, and even wives have discovered that this is the can’t-go-wrong, inexpensive Father’s Day gift.
Daughters have always been special to practically every father, and “Little Girl” is one of those songs that can bring a tear to the eyes of even the toughest dad.
E. Walter Smith, who wrote and performs the song explains that he
actually wrote it for his own sister’s wedding, and that it took off from there.
“People just fell in love with the song,” explained Smith. “It’s just one of those songs that you find singing to yourself, and you find the emotions beginning to well up…. in a good way” Smith continued.
Jennie Sim, a young bride planning a late June wedding in Philadelphia is typical of daughters who bought the song for their fathers. “Shopping for the wedding had tired me out, and sort of on a whim I asked Mom what she thought of the song…. as a Father’s Day present. When I saw mom crying, I didn’t need to say anything else!”
Smith wrote and recorded “Little Girl” shortly after his song “I Do” took the charts by storm as a favorite wedding song.
People can listen to a sample of “Little Girl” on Smith’s website

Smith is thrilled that his music is so loved, and adds that he
actually enjoys attending weddings and performing his music.

Bourbon for breakfast…I love it! I have to share this on my blog. Too late for Father’s Day but his birthday is coming up. What about a father of the bride or groomsmen gift? My brides are going to love this!
All i got was a mug, saying great dad! Guess my son is too young to buy Bourbon, even for breakfast! P
Alas, I most certainly agree that a heartfelt song can melt the heart of even the hardest “cowboy” when it comes to daddy’s little girl. I must be a relic of the past as I still hold the “trusty necktie” in high regard…although bourbon for breakfast does hold a certain appeal, indeed.
