Mises Mobile

June 7, 2010 by

In the spirit of a certain mobile-related event going on today, I’ve started work on a mobile skin for Mises.org:  http://mises.org/mobile/

Let us know what kinds of features you’d like on a mobile skin of Mises.org.

congratulations on the improvements to the website. whilst off message, when the site is next re-jigged, can more space for comments be allowed on the homepage, perhaps at the expense of the calendar? often the most enlightening part of the site, the comments also serve as a reliable pointer to the best articles. this is especially needed now, when the volume of material is growing so rapidly. thank you.

looks good, loads fast even on my slowed to 64k connection after exceeding my monthly isp quota.

Now i want versions of all of the literature with scalable text. I’ve been reading the new klein book on the can at work and I’ll be cross eyed by the time I finish. The book, that is…

Thanks! Can you also make the address m.mises.org point to the mobile pages?

Can you guys make mobile layouts for all of your pages? In particular, mobile layouts for the mises university, literature, and media sections would be great. I could drive a lot of traffic to you guys through the Ron Paul iPhone app if you could do that.

Hello; can you please code your mobile pages for smartphones? For instance, I have an HTC HD2 with a resolution of 480×800. I use Opera Mini and Opera Turbo; they are by far the most popular mobile browsers. Opera Mini is available for the iPhone as well.

It would be awesome if you could eliminate horizontal scrolling on your mobile layouts, and get rid of duplicate text (for example, redundant quotes in larger text, which do look nice on desktop versions of your pages, btw).

I found some resources for optimizing your site for mobile devices:

The following sites are good examples of sites which work well on all the smartphones i have used in both Opera Mini and Opera Turbo:

Finally, please accept my gratitude for creating and maintaining this site. I am learning a lot here.

Great job! I would like a “hot topic” link to the most active discussions and recent replies. I’m on an HTC Eco and so far so good!
