Mises Media now available on the iPad

May 6, 2010 by

I just added HTML 5 suport for audio and video to Mises Media.  This removes the dependency on Flash or Silverlight for those browsers that support it*, including the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, Android, and Palm Pre.

* Unfortunately, Firefox does not support the MP3/h.264 encoding used by our media.  Also, not all media has been converted into a mobile-friendly format.  You can browse by media type to find supported media.

I can listen to audio on my iPhone but can’t watch any videos. Here is the screenshot: http://picasaweb.google.com/paul.vahur/MyDropbox#5468445202597926290

I got similar result with different video files.

I don’t see any new choice in ‘browse by media type’. Where can I find a file to test on my iPad?

Thanks, Don

All audio and MPEG4 video should work. http://mises.org/media.aspx?action=MediaType

Nothing would benefit the cause greater than a gorgeous iPad APP! Something of the caliber of WebMDs or Epicurious. Of course I say this as someone in no position to help, but could this possibly be something the institute could put some money and resources toward?
