This is an important event in intellectual history. The conference has been an overwhelming success. There has been a very big attendance, great questions from the audience, and its all rock solid Austrian economics from both the Americans and Brazilians. The enthusiasm is boiling over, the food and weather have been great, and everything about the conference and our trip to Brazil has been top-notch professional. David Friedman and his son Patri (who are not Austrians) are also included in the conference, but when you think about it, David is one of the best mainstream economists and forward thinking thinkers there is out there and Petri is a chip off the old block (not Walter). The people who made this event are great and you will be hearing more about them in the future.

Sounds great!
Hahah! Loved the ‘boldness’ of the food, Mr. Thornton.
You folks are welcome to come back anytime. We need all anti-statists we can get.
I was there. I just returned from Porto Alegre to Montevideo, where I live. By the way, Mark, I saw you, Joe Salerno, Tom Woods and Lew Rockwell at the airport, when I was about to leave for the gate and you had just arrived and went to the checkin queue. I meant to speak to you, but my queue for the departure gate was moving and I had to go. Still, I had a great time in the conference and I enjoyed your speeches, and also David and Patri’s.
The seminar was really a success! It was specially gratifying for me – I wrote the first book on the Austrian School published in Brazil (1995) – to perceive the will of many young students to learn about the work of Austrians. I hope many other seminars like this become real in the future!
