The Libertarian Standard is a new Austro-Rothbardian blog. TLS is about:
Justice, individual liberty, civilization, and truth. We hate the State, war, and militarism, which are the enemy of these things. We love prosperity, property rights, and capitalism; we oppose mercantilism, fascism, and protectionism.
Enjoy.

I find the lack of Kochtopus-centric discussion disturbing.
I headed over to take a look and the very first post was one making fun of Paul Volcker for his age. The elderly, we’re informed have poor brain function. I hope the rest of it isn’t as puerile.
Craig, that’s a very uncharitable reading of my post. It was facetious. The point is that Volcker is not really confused, but that Obama lied about taxes. In fact, a better reading is that I’m actually praising Volcker for admitting the truth despite the fact that he’s Obama’s advisor.
You should write about your firm. About the challenges of doing business internationally.
I don’t want to create mass depression, Dixie. Things are bad enough as they are.
That’s why I (temporarily?) stopped blogging. It is too easy and depressing to comment on the negative, and I don’t really have time to comment on the positive, because I am too busy chasing it each day.
Also, I think DHS probably re-assigned both of my readers to more radical blogs.
Always good to see a new liberty blog start up. I liked the posts, snappy and to the point.
That said, is there a libertarian blog bubble? I don’t think there can ever be enough at this particular moment in history. Anyone think that it’s possible for libertarians to take a step backwards because of overexposure?
Paul, the Libertarian Global Coordinating Committee will have to take your suggestion under advisement.
Some question to liberterian / anarchist on aggression / violence. As I unsterstand the position of libertarian / anarchist viewpoint it is ok too use force / violence in self-defense against aggression or to take back stolen property from you.
But what about defending someone other if you are not attacked by the aggressor? How can one justify violence against someone how is not attacking me, but someone else? How can one distinguish between self-defense and aggression with limited information what happend first? How can a blood-feud prevented if everybody is trying to defend everybody?
Thanks in forward for replys.
Bob Rooney,
I think that libertarianism is not in a special position regarding the issues you brought up. It only says that you can use force against aggressors. Other disciplines, and a reliance on common and other evolved law, is I think required to determine when it is reasonable to think that aggression occurs.
In most political arrangements, it is permissible for the bystanders to step in to help victims when it is reasonable to think they’re being assaulted. Libertarianism wouldn’t be any different. The “reasonable man” standard would be used, I think.
