I think I heard something recently about someone who was instrumental in establishing the Canadian system suggesting that there should be market oriented reforms (such as allowing people to buy their own, private, insurance), but I can't remember who it was. Anybody here know?

While thinking about Good Friday this week and then reading your article I am reminded about how long this has been going on. When faced with a choice between Jesus, who preached and lived an ideology of intellectual and spiritual freedom from Roman slavery, and Barrabas, a robber, the crowd asked for the robber. Apparently freedom has been more threatening than material loss to the masses (and those who control them) for a long, long time.

Congratulations on this very interesting article that perhaps could only have been written by someone who has studied in part outside the controlled education system?
It leads me to think: The true kings, meaning those who wield the real power (or just, power) of our day are largely unseen as such. The quiet men whose bidding the politicians do. The (visible) monarchs of our day are now part of aristocracy of old, against which the kings ally themselves with the plebs, in order to defeat. Hence the controlled and controlling worker's paradise against the evil capitalist bosses. Into which control comes, as Melchior Palyi indicates, that which concerns us most intimately, our health. If the effective aristocracy of our day are all those from the monarchs to the lower bourgoisie, who are the kings?
