Interview with Doug French

January 20, 2010 by

The news of the fall in housing starts was not news to Doug French, president of the Mises Institute, who has been predicting a further fall. I interviewed him on the housing problem. He explains the ins and outs of the financial pressures of buyers and lenders. He likens the stimulus so far with defibrillation, making the body jump before it falls back on the stretcher. Whole interview here.

A more appropriate saying would probably be a dead cat bounce.

Because a defibrillator gives too much credit (pun intended) to the stimulus idea.

Why do i get and echo and dual overlapping chatter on the audio? Is it my player? If I am the only one, don’t worry about it, my techie can fix next week. Just wondering.
