The winter edition of Regulation Magazine has my article on how federal white-collar “crime” laws are destroying what is left of law in this country. One thing to remember is that “white-collar crime” was a term coined by a socialist who believed that all business transactions were inherently criminal.
So, should any of us be surprised when the government criminalizes business?

Interesting article. Althought I do agree with the premise it also makes me wonder what the alternative punished would be of corporate officers who “steal” money from shareholders. Would it be a gentle push off a curb into oncomming traffic? Boating/car accidents? If it weren’t for statues like RICO would the populace not have already drawn and quartered Sr. Mgmt from GS?
I see a lot of interesting posts here. Bookmarked for future referrence.
