Thanks for bringing back memories of da’ Bronx. I can remember the decline and decay. What bothers me to this day is that Nu Awkers who have suffered (and continue to suffer) very personal and real consequences of bad policies still believe in the goodness of these policies! It goes to show that once you have thoroughly corrupted a man’s analytical framework, you can literally lie, cheat and steal in broad day light with no consequence.

I am reminded of the richard pryor joke: he is in bed with his mistress. his wife comes in and sees him and the mistress. his wife cries “how could you do this!” he responds “do what?” she says “cheat on me!” he looks at his mistress and then at his wife and says “who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?!?!” Most Nu Awkers, especially the “better educated ones” hands-down believe what’s fed to them, not what they see.
