Recall how the Soviets built a glorious future of socialism for 72 years, progress year after year, except that when the regime was finally toppled the whole of Russia was a wreck. The Obama administrations seems to be inspired by this experience with its relentless claims of the glorious recovery that somehow is always around the corner. So, for example, there must be a extension of the stimulus that didn’t work in order to encourage more of the recovery that doesn’t exist, and so on it will go forever.

The “Economic Recovery”-On-The-Horizon Propaganda!
Recovery is a strange word to use. It seems to imply another attempt (“Re”) to hide the truth (“Cover”) as an ongoing endeavor (“Y”). Now the word re-cover-y makes sense. It is the smoke screen of economic terrorism by the unConstitutional coup!
A more honest description would be: fascist socialism by the inner circle of the unConstitutional coup as it desperately tries to usurp the powers granted the Constitutional Republic when it was established as a model of a classical liberalism society.
Come on Jeffrey, we had 2.4 million new claims for unemployment benefits last month, and the monthly unemployment only increased by 250,000 odd. That means that over 2 million people went back to work. (OK some took early retirement, plus we had new college graduates coming into the workforce.). You are an economic recovery denier.
The problem is that if you are right, and, for instance, these people have been abducted by space aliens or been taken to Area 57, they are not going to be paying any income tax or social security tax or any other tax. This will increase the budget deficit. Also, they will not be buying (or receiving) any Christmas presents. This could stall the recovery.
Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that you are right? Am I becoming too cynical in my old age?
Things are getting better. My buddy Winston Smith tells me that the chocolate ration was increased to 100 grams/week, up from 150 grams/week. We toasted the good news with a slug of Victory Gin.

“… on horizon” is an old Soviet anecdote:
So don’t forget that the Recovery might be well on that imaginable line that goes away from you whenever you try to approach it…
