I recently decided that I am going to pay for as many things as is practicable using only two-dollar bills. I will now attempt to explain my purely symbolic gesture and the reactions I have received so far. FULL ARTICLE

My $2 FRN spending is being met with mixed reactions…

One cashier could’ve cared less… another was thrilled and wanted her manager to change it out so she could keep it… and another was worried that it might be “counterfeit” because they’re so uncommon (I was buying a $2.29 cup of coffee – like anyone would waste their time counterfeiting a 2003 $2 FRN so they can steal coffee).

I often see stamps inked onto various bills. Why not get a “mises.org” stamp to put on $2 bills?

Don’t know if it entirely fits in to your plan, but, consider ordering Jefferson $1 coins from the mint. You can order $500 worth, and they cost face value, and shipping is free:

Although, perhaps this wouldn’t be best for your particular lesson due to the extreme waste of public money on this initiative: Free overnight shipping via UPS and the merchant fees involved in accepting credit card payment.

The U.S. economy has had DEFLATION of 1 to 2% in the last few months. So what exactly is your point? Are you suggesting that the Federal Reserve System should INCREASE the money supply?

The bank I use in midtown Manhattan is plum out of two dollar bills. Their reason: “people keep asking for all of them.”

I thought Burr killed Hamilton and Jefferson was the second president in my reality that’s why they put him on the 2 dollar bill
